High Speed Photography

OK, so I'm a bit of a weirdo. I take snapshots of weird macro bugs, also anything to do with water or liquids. Apart from water sports I also have a passion for water droplet photography. Using high speed triggers the imagery is carried out in a darkened room using a Canon speedlight at 1/64th power, the duration of the flash at this setting is equivalent to around 1/15,000th of a second and because of the darkened room is able to freeze the action during a 1 second exposure. No other light is able to register at the ISO100 setting so no worries.

Happy with this one which I call "Storm in a Teacup".

FS: Primo SPL Housing, Dome Port and Canon 20D

Port is for a Tokina 10-17 (which I am keeping), but also works well with 50mm. This is an immaculate piece of equipment that has seen very light use and perfect maintenance. According to Sean Labrie at SPL, this housing also works for 30D/40D/ and 50D with minor modification.

Asking price for housing and port alone = $1,295.00, camera body $350.00. Camera includes 18-55 kit lens if wanted, battery & charger, ...etc. Camera also very low mileage...

Let me know, and score a clean set-up!!

Cheers,

Goodbye winter

Spring is officially here and has scared off the swell.

I put forth 3 from recent times for your valued critique.

1) Wanting nothing more than to get in the water but had to work.
+ contours as it draws off the reef
+ colour
+ angle
- no sense of scale

2) Could have been deeper? Yes. But this is without doubt the hardest place to surf I've come across, sucks dry and currents constantly pulling you too deep.
+ see those barnacles?
- something about the angle bothers me

3)
+ like the pulled-back perspective
- harsh morning light, almost blown whites
- wave could be bigger
- bit too far away
